The 39th committee F.O.R.T. ‘Pie Debye’

Chairman

Ain Kuldmäe: "I guess we'll never know."
A crisp 20 years and a couple extra weeks ago, a young innocent bright-eyed boy was born in the great bustling megacity called Tallinn. Born at a very young age, he was taken ruthlessly away and exiled into the savage nation of Lithuania, where he grew up a scared and hurt victim of a society that was not nearly beer-oriented enough. But then, through a break of good luck, he got to run away to Eindhoven, where he was greeted by an unfathomable amount of all types of beer and wonderful tostis. This safe haven was so important to this poor young boy, that he decided to do whatever it takes to keep it up and see it grow. Thus, when presented with a chance to become chairman he quickly took it and thus the 39th chairman of the committee F.O.R.T. ‘Pie Debye’ came to be.

Treasurer

Sven Dam: "The money is always in balance, even after many beers!"
As the only Dutch member of this committee, this committee member will have to learn his peers the Dutch culture. He must do so with mostly Belgian beers, so this will be a challenging task. But after living in Geleen, ‘the worldcity’, in the very south of the Netherlands for over 17 years and now almost 3 years in Eindhoven, in the drunken province of Brabant, he should be prepared well. Geleen may not have rivers to boast about, but it does have a carnival spirit that runs so deep it might as well be in the drinking water. Growing up there taught him two things. Firstly, how to properly wear an outfit that makes absolutely no sense outside of one week a year. And secondly, how to start drinking at 9 am before having quite fully finished your breakfast. Naturally, when the quiet streets of Limburg started to feel a little too quiet, Eindhoven beckoned with its promise of bigger crowds, later nights and crucially, a bar willing to take him in. That bar, of course, was the F.O.R.T.. What started as a curious visit turned into a weekly ritual and the weekly ritual turned into an unofficial residency. Always having a seat reserved for him, it seemed only fair to start paying rent in the form of actual responsibility. Now to close this off with the Svennie song; Along the Keutelenbeek In Limburg, between Sittard and Beek, there was no star, so somber, due to the torch with a fire at its peak. Seeing this the treaurer said, Our own Svennie Pennie: “Action must be taken ahead, it is time for chemistry!” Barely had he said this, and he was drinking at the F.O.R.T.. His liver is no longer in remiss, by the beers that his reckless hand brought. What I’ve learned as a go-getter, lies within the walls of our bar, beers are much better, wines are very subpar. A REAL BRAND IS … DRAFTED!

Stock Manager

Ryan van Breda: "You had a good night, if you can’t remember it right!"
22 years ago, a boy was born in Tiel. A month followed and he journeyed to Ghana for some reason. From here onwards, he travelled to vast places, including Jakarta, Dubai, Perth and lastly Singapore. Here he gained his love for Chemistry and conquered the ranks of the Singapore Army, through his stint as a combat engineer. What followed was a desire to return to his homeland, where he discovered the great city of Eindhoven. Here he was able to find a place which he could call home and where he could drink cheap delicious beers. That cozy place being the F.O.R.T., where he regularly came for the Thursday drinks for his first two years. Having gained a love for European beer and the atmosphere of this great bar, he aspired to keep growing the amazing assortment of beers with his love of physical labour. Thus he became the stock manager and arrived late.

Coordinator Of Activities

Ísak Sveinsson: "You only need a beer and some cards, then your night will be fun!"
Just over 21 years ago in the small town of Akranes, at the edge of the known world in Iceland, a boy was born. Despite loving his country very much, he longed for the excitement of the unknown, and after several months of searching for the most exciting place in the world he settled on Eindhoven. Then during Intro week, he got his first glimpse at the most wonderful place in the entire Netherlands, the F.O.R.T.! After seeing the F.O.R.T., and attending it a couple of times, he knew he wanted to spend as much time as he possibly could in this wonderful utopia. Even if he didn’t always remember how he got home after his time in the F.O.R.T., the morning after always told him that he had a lot of fun. Because of this great place, he did his very best to show up to as many Thursday drinks and activities as possible until the opportunity to become a part of the F.O.R.T. committee came. A few beers later and very little time spent thinking about it, he decided that he simply had to become a part of the F.O.R.T. itself. This eventually led to him becoming the Coordinator of Activities of the 39th committee of the F.O.R.T. ‘Pie Debye’.
