The 32nd committee F.O.R.T. ‘Pie Debye’

Chairman

Tom Janssen: "Liquid gold is the only gold for me"
He was born about 20 years ago in the far far south of the Netherlands in a village called Stein. He had been doubting for a long time if he wanted to move to, what was for him, a place so far north in the Netherlands. However, after seeing the F.O.R.T. during one of the walk-along days he was convinced that Eindhoven was the place to be. During his first two years as a student, he tried to be in the F.O.R.T. whenever it was possible and he grew to love the place, people and atmosphere. This made him decide to become a part of this family during his third year and what better way is there than becoming the chairman of the 32nd committee F.O.R.T. ‘Pie Debye’. Together with 3 others who will for sure become life-long friends, he started this adventure and he doesn’t want it to end any time soon!

Treasurer

Matthijs Krooneman: "Don’t be a dummy, give me your money!"
After living in the remote village of ‘t Harde, he moved to Eindhoven to discover many things, one of them being the taste of beer, which was found in the F.O.R.T. He was immediately hooked and over time visiting the Thursday drink went from an occasion to a tradition. The Thursdays alone were not enough for him, so he sought for more. Thankfully he didn’t have to search for long, as he became part of the committee.

Stock Manager

Vilena Petrova: "Който пие бира, не умира"
Long time ago (roughly 20 years), on a cold November noon, because even back then she struggled to get up early, this girl was born in As-If-Anyone-Is-Going-To-Know-The-Name, Bulgaria. Flash forward 18 years, she decided she had had enough nice weather, and decided to move to lovely Eindhoven for her studies. After having her very first taste of craft beer within the four walls of the F.O.R.T. it is safe to say that she was hooked. By the time the first semester had come to an end, Thursday drinks and F.O.R.T. activities had easily become a mandatory event in her agenda. On one fateful Thursday towards the end of her first year, a moment of realization hit her. There was nothing she would rather do in her third year at university, than to hang out in the F.O.R.T. and introduce others to the wonderland that is craft beer. And what better way to do it than becoming the Stock Manager of the 32nd Committee F.O.R.T. Pie Debye?

Coordinator of Activities

Tobias Hilpert: "AC, take me out!"
Once upon a time, a princess named Snow White lived in a castle with her father, the King, and her stepmother, the Queen. Approximately 275 years later, in the same town which now bears the name of Lohr a. Main another child was raised. This boy merrily played in the Spessart forests without a trace of concerns in his mind, as one does in elementary school. Not having travelled before he was first devastated when he learned that he would have to move from his tiny village to far bigger city in another country – Parma. After being dragged there he did finally realize how fun and exciting new countries, people and opportunities were. Because Germany seemed boring after having lived there for so long he looked for new places to explore and eventually landed in Eindhoven. His mind was then blown when he was told that the faculty had their own bar on campus, run by students. Many hungover Fridays later he was convinced that the F.O.R.T. was the most beautiful and important room in the city and needed to have a part in its story. He then gladly took his place as the coordinator of activities of the 32nd committee F.O.R.T. ‘Pie Debye’, an experience which one cannot find in any other place. And the journey doesn’t end here – it continues with new friends on his side!
